A succession is a business that did not end.
Every business on this page had an owner who wanted to step back and no obvious person to step in. Each one had a team, a name and a reason to keep going. Instead of winding down, or selling to the first buyer with a cheque, the owner chose to hand it to someone who would keep it.
We do not name every business we own. Some owners ask us to keep a sale quiet, and we always do. What we name here, we do with their permission.
